Pear Happy is a game designed to train your brain to focus on the positive. Human beings have what scientists call a “negativity bias” wherein we tend to focus more on the negative than the positive. This is an evolutionary trait that served our ancient ancestors well when they needed to be on the constant lookout for life threatening situations. But this doesn’t serve us very well today and it can color our mood and darken our outlook on the world.

Pear Happy uses Attention Bias Modification also known as Cognitive Attention Bias Modification Training to help you learn to focus on and be rewarded for seeking out and finding positive stimuli. In alternate levels, Pear Happy uses faces in multiple expressions – sad, angry and happy and asks you to find and fill your sun center with the positive images. Other levels ask you to find the positive words and get your fill of these.

Like all training or exercise programs, for Pear Happy to really work – you need to work it and use it again and again. After all, you’re trying to retain a brain system that’s been in development for 3.5 million years. It won’t take that long – but with practice and persistence, you’ll find it easier to focus on the good – even when life throws challenges your way.

Pear Happy has a renewing subscription that enables players to access all levels of play, features and data. A premium subscription with Pear provides access via the upgraded account to all of your Pear games and apps connected to that account. There’s never any need to “restore” your access for new or additional devices as your access is stored on Pear’s servers and not on the device itself. Subscriptions last 30 days from time of purchase and cost $9.99 per month (or a 30 day period).

Payment will be charged to your iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase
. Subscription automatically renews unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period
. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period, and identify the cost of the renewal
. Subscriptions may be managed by players at any time and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to your Account Settings after purchase
. No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period.
